I have been Secret-Ode‘d!!
Sometimes, I think that after all this time and the long absence from this blog that I’m forgotten. Then I miss it, then I want to come back, then I think it’s been too long and I slink away again. Rinse, repeat.
Thanks so much to Mel, who does so much for the blogosphere – she’s the person that actually does stuff, not just have the good intentions. People like you are few and far between Mel, and although I very rarely comment these days be sure that I totally *heart* you and all that you do. Like organising Secret Ode Days – which today is exactly what I needed. Go feel some love…
How am I doing you ask? Erm, okay I suppose. March heralded the 2nd anniversary of P&L’s birth and death which knocked me pretty hard. Work is kicking my arse, which is a good thing as it keeps me busy. My Mum has been to visit and just gone back home, leaving me feeling all flat and deflated. My Dad and StepMum are heading over next month, for the first time in nearly 5 years.
I’m struggling. Tomorrow is the 1st birthday of 2 very special babies, and I’m doing the best not to think of it. I’m doing lots of ‘not thinking’ about being childless and dead children, with varying degrees of success.
Thank you again so much my Secret-Ode’r, you have absolutely made my day – more than you will ever know.
3 years since we lost our girls. 3 years since we held them. I cannot think of what should have been. I just can’t.
Thanks so much for your concerned emails – but I’m just at a different place in my life. No, there’s nothing major on Sekrits that anyone is missing out on (seriously, I haven’t posted over there for aaaaages) – but after the last few years of pain, loss and heartache – I don’t feel like dwelling on that area of my life for the time being. Truth be told I’m half tempted to start a passworded blog, but haven’t really had time to think much more about it.
For your viewing pleasure….
Lucy says Merry Christmas!
Asha at 7 months – what a monster! But she’s such a funny thing, you can’t help but love her, holes and trenches notwithstanding.
Tomorrow I fly out to WA to spend Christmas with my family and friends – please take care, enjoy the season and accept my thanks for being such a wonderful support for me over this last, tumultuous year…
Love to you all x
Ok, so it’s been a long, long time between posts. I’ve been interstate to visit family (was fun), moved to a new house (not fun), and basically just worked like a trojan.
This blog is seriously neglected, as for what’s going on in my life there’s not a lot – well not really a lot I want to talk about. So I’ve chosen to use this place for my lighthearted side (yes! I do have a lighthearted side!) – and post pics of animals, etc.
My friend Bea has nominated me for the blogger Fame of Fortitude, and I am supremely grateful.
Even though I’m not blogging as much as I used to, this blog has been a haven for me. I am so very glad that I have met you all, and that we have been able to share our journeys.
I am going to nominate everyone for this award – each and every one of you deserves it.
Hmm… yes well it has been a while. I’ve just not felt compelled to blog, there’s nothing in my life worth blogging about and to be honest what is worth blogging about is stuff I’m not really comfortable having ‘out there’ so to speak. Thank you for your concerned emails and thoughts, they really do mean a lot but rest assured all is ok in my world right now!
Tomorrow I fly to my home state for a holiday for a wedding, I’m so looking forward to seeing everyone. And in the meantime, of course, I just know you’ve been holding your breath with excited anticipation to see what animal antics I have for you today.
Today is dedicated to the Queen of the Impatient Household – Lucy.
As you can see, Lucy leads a very, very stressful life.
And a couple of little videos for you, starring the feisty feline herself…..
Yes, so she obviously has a very hard life, and a completely fucked up attitude. That is why I love her so much.
Later, dudes…. x
(*Ack* I just did a massive long post of videos and fucking WordPress fucking ate it TWICE!!!!!! Will start again but I am pissed off.…)
Anyhoo, as I have the cutest puppy in the stratosphere, and I kid myself you want to see her, and my cat with attitude has you all enamored, and I need to obsess about something, and I’m an all or nothing kind of girl, and I don’t have cute babies to show you – I have to indulge you with my new obsession of taking short, crap videos of my animals and posting them on Y0utube.
These first 2 are for M, and show Asha eating her scrumptious chicken carcass….
Here’s Lucy belting Asha up from the other side of the door, and yes the dog is terrified of her…
And Lucy being just a leetle too brave…
And lastly, Asha with Mum at doggy school a couple of weekends ago. It’s the most hilarious thing, Asha loves going up and down the planks all day, but steps like a princess thru the hoops when all these tiny little dogs hurtle themselves through with abandon! Not my girl, no sireee….
I call it police dog school, but she’d be the worst police/guard dog ever….
And I do thank you all for your kind comments about my accent, but I fear I sound like a (bad) drag queen….
Because I was asked so nicely, here’s just a little bit of Asha puppy goodness for you!!
I am now the proud owner of a sleek, shiney, brand new poota.
I’m doing my best to clumsily find my way around its’ operating systems, stupid old Wind0ws V1sta, and mastering the data transfer cable to bring all my old stuff over. (is it me or is V1sta stupid?) (ok, don’t answer that)
So, to commemorate my new poota, our home internet connection has shat itself. The filter/splitter thingos are working ok, but there’s too much noise on the line so whenever someone calls us at home our line crashes out. It will cost us mucho dollars to get a technician out to fix it, and to be honest I can’t be arsed. We’re going to sell this place sooner rather than later, and I’m just too damn tight and miserable. This last week has cost me $3k just in carpet and wardrobes, so the freaking connection can go bite.
I shall do my best to come visit you all in my new poota, hopefully after I’ve mastered more of the basic functions. Will be calling on the innernets to help me – I need to
steal download some movies!
We’ve found another house that we’re hoping to put an offer on next week, it’s in a lovely semi-rural setting on the outskirts of town. It’s a large, rambling home complete with hideous decor (think chandeliers, brass, apricot walls, floral borders and blue wavey carpets) – but if you look past the cosmetics it’s really a beautiful home. Here’s hoping it becomes ours and I can post some pictures for you soon!
I took Asha to the vet today to weigh her for a worming tablet (sidenote – my baby now weighs 25.5kgs/56.2lbs) . I got out of the car and promptly rolled my ankle. Fuck. I’ve been icing and elevating it for the better part of the afternoon but it hurts like a bastard. I really don’t need this.
I do owe you an apology. No, I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth, nor been hit by a large truck and rendered useless.
I just don’t have anything to say. Our computer is shite and driving me insane, as a result I’ve hardly read blogs, or commented, or responded to the loads of emails sitting in my inbox. There is a light at the end of the tunnel however, our new computer should be here within a week or so and hopefully I can rejoin the ‘real’ world.
I know you’ve all been hanging out for gratuitous puppy pics – but I have to ask the question, what happened to my cute little puppy? Someone has stolen her and left a big, goofy, clumsy, unco-ordinated, nutbag in her place.
Seriously, Asha is hilarious. She’s nearly 5 months old and looks like a gawky teenager. She’s tall and skinny with massive feet and ears like yacht sails – and has decided that all the classes we took her to were worth nothing and to ignore everything she’s ever learned. Digging holes is fun. Barking at the fence palings is a great hobby. Grabbing the ball and running around like a lunatic while I run around after her is the best game ever. Jumping, biting – all fabulous fun.
MrP put a tether in the floor in our loungeroom so we have been bringing her in at night for an hour or so – spreading out a big old blanket and tying her up. We really want for Asha and Lucy to get on well, and this seemed like a good idea.
Not so much.
Lucy teases Asha, mercilessly. She walks around the edge of the blanket, about a hairs’ width from where Asha can reach on her tether. She lies there and licks her bum whilst 20kg of dog goes batshit crazy trying to get to her – and doesn’t bat her eyes. Gotta love that cat, she has no fear and a ‘fuck you’ attitude. heh. Wonder why?
(note the crust of dirt on her nose… courtesy of the massive hole dug in the middle of the lawn)
Sometimes Nature prods me that there is some beauty in the world. I know I don’t see it enough, but here’s a reminder in our yard.
